Wednesday Doggie Day: First Aid

Here in Utah, it is Fall time, my favorite time of year! Cooler weather, beautiful colors, all this means, it is hiking time. We love to hike as a family and enjoy the the beauty God has given us. The Boys love to hike!!! My little Mungo is the happiest when he is hiking. When we go for a walk, he might balk, not want to go, but we get to the mountains, he will run up and down the mountain and not want to leave. All his puppy energy comes back, it makes his Mommy happy! Otto just loves to be active, run and hunt! The last time we went, he caught the sent of something, deer or birds, he was in heaven running and hunting. It was such fun to watch him be so happy and do what he loves.

Needless to say, hiking is great family fun and something we all look forward too. With that, I try to keep us all safe. Some of the things I watch for while we are hiking:
Rattle snakes, even though the weather is cooler, they are still out sunning themselves to keep warm. They are not as fast, but still dangerous.
Mountain lions, beers, not that we see them, but we do have them in our mountains and be ware.
Whatever the Boys try to eat, berries, rocks, sticks. You never know what they are going to try.
Watching out for poison ivy. Not so much so for the Boys, but for us. It tends to not effect them, but we can get it from them.
Just being aware of where we are.

Here is a list of of First Aid items to keep on hand while you are hiking with your furry ones.

Such happy Boys!

Saving the world one stick of butter at a time.
Go out and enjoy the beauty God has given us!
Jenn
